Those nutty downhillers that compete in that contest come down to sample the Southern Shores Unit Surf Pool. Carson Storch and Cam Zinc were among the many athletes and line builders that came out, enjoyed some waves, good food and a fully stoked time learning to surf or getting their chops in on the UNIT wave.
The UNIT Surf pool at Southern Shores Utah is a big hit but not easy to access because it is a private residential install. The fist wave is free the second is about a million bucks. You must be a homeowner of friend to enjoy this 16 meter wave in Hurricane Utah. Pronounced "Hurricun"...dont say it wrong. Look for more parks to spring up in St George Utah, it just might be a big surf destination here pretty soon.
